Everyone’s journey to parenthood is unique, and we strive to make this experience as seamless and comfortable as possible.  Whether you need donor sperm, donor eggs, or a gestational carrier (surrogate), our reproductive specialists and staff will help you to navigate the process to best fit your needs.  LGBTQ family building may involve intrauterine inseminations or In Vitro Fertilization, and we welcome the opportunity to help all couples or individuals conceive.

Fertility Treatment for Lesbian Couples
Treatment for lesbian couples is typically intrauterine inseminations (IUI) or In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) using donor sperm.  A consultation with one of our physicians and review of both partners’ medical history can help determine the most optimal treatment options. Questions to consider are whose eggs will be used and who will carry the baby.

Treatment for Gay Couples
Treatment for gay couples involves In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) and third-party reproduction, which entails egg donation and gestational surrogacy.  Beginning with a fertility consultation, your physician will guide you into the initial necessary steps. A semen analysis and required FDA testing is completed on one or both partners whose sperm will be utilized. Egg donors can be known (family members or friends) or can be chosen through our anonymous egg donor database.  Utah Fertility Center has an online database with a substantial number of egg donors.  We also work with many gestational carrier agencies and are happy to work with independent matches as well. Your attentive third party coordinator will work closely with you and your physician as they walk you through every step of your journey.
