Book NowMelinda Henne, MD
)
Dr. Melinda Henne brings a wealth of experience to the Utah Fertility Center and Idaho
Fertility Center teams, with a unique background that spans private practice, academia,
and military service. Her passion for medicine began early. Witnessing family members
navigate their fertility journeys inspired her to dedicate her career to helping others build
families.
Dr. Henne earned her undergraduate degree in Government Studies from Georgetown
before entering the military service to pursue her medical training at the Medical
University of South Carolina. She completed her Obstetrics & Gynecology residency
while serving in the military at Keesler Air Force Base Medical Center and went on to
practice general Obstetrics and Gynecology. Her growing interest in fertility led her to
complete her Reproductive Endocrinology & Infertility Fellowship at Stanford University,
where she also earned a Master of Science degree in Health Services Research.
During her time in the Air Force, Dr. Henne held several leadership and academic roles.
She served as the Director of the Infertility Program at Walter Reed National Military
Medical Center and held faculty positions with the Reproductive Endocrinology &
Infertility and Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery at the National Institutes of Health
and the Uniformed Services University for Health Sciences. After retiring as a Colonel,
she was appointed Associate Professor at the University of South Florida before
transitioning into private practice.
While Dr. Henne enjoys all aspects of Reproductive Endocrinology, she has a special
interest in supporting single women and LGBTQ+ individuals on their fertility journeys.
She also has a passion for reproductive surgery, with tubal reversals being a particular
favorite.
Dr. Henne shares her home with three tiny “furkids” who collectively weigh just 20
pounds—but take up a big space in her heart. She is an avid dog lover (fair warning: if
you bring up dogs, expect photos!). A lifelong learner, she recently completed her
Master’s in Business Administration with a focus on Healthcare at George Washington
University. Outside of work and study, she can be found exploring the local vegan food
scene, practicing yoga, or soaking in the serenity of the water or mountains. An
adventurer at heart, she enjoys hiking and dreams of one day summiting Mt.
Kilimanjaro.
